At Dodge Moving and Storage, we believe that generosity shouldn’t have an “off-season.” While the world often focuses on giving during the holidays, we’ve structured our year around three distinct pillars of impact: Love, Empowerment, and Harvest.
The Season of Love: The Loving Tree
The inspiration for our “Season of Love” came from a simple realization: needs don’t vanish once the holiday decorations come down. In fact, February can be one of the leanest times of year for charitable donations. To bridge this gap, we created the Loving Tree—our own twist on the traditional Angel Tree.
Every February, centered around Valentine’s Day, we partner with Home Sweet Home, a St. Louis nonprofit furniture bank. They provide underserved families with the essentials needed to transform a house into a home. Our team fills the Loving Tree with donations of kitchenware, linens, and household basics, ensuring our neighbors can live with the stability, comfort, and dignity they deserve.
The Season of Empowerment: Equipping Future Leaders
As summer fades, our focus shifts to the “Season of Empowerment.” We believe every child deserves the tools to thrive, regardless of their circumstances. From late July through early August, we collect school supplies specifically for schools with high populations of transient families—students who may join a classroom mid-semester without the resources they need to succeed.
Last year, this mission hit close to home. Supporting Blackhurst Elementary in St. Charles—a school with a deep personal connection to one of our employees—we partnered with a local church to provide for their students. Together, we were able to fill 34 backpacks with supplies for students from Kindergarten through 4th grade, ensuring these young leaders started their year feeling empowered and prepared.
The Season of Harvest: Gratitude in Action
Our year culminates in the “Season of Harvest and Gratitude.” Aligning with Thanksgiving, Dodge joins forces with our Mayflower parent company, UniGroup, to support the JB Patriot Pantry. Located near Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, the pantry has been a lifeline for St. Louis active-duty and veteran families since 2007.
The impact of this partnership is truly staggering. Last year, our combined efforts resulted in the collection of 10,400 food and toiletry items, weighing in at over 5,200 pounds. It is a powerful reminder that while we may be a small team, we are undeniably mighty when we move toward a common goal.
