Tom Linhares, executive vice president and general manager of Dodge Moving and Storage, St. Louis, MO, has received the Mayflower Joyce Derrick award, which recognizes individuals who have shown particular dedication to and leadership in the moving industry. Gerald Smith, a crew leader and packer for Dodge Moving & Storage, St. Louis, MO, has been recognized with the Mayflower Customer Hero Award. Mayflower Chairman Dan McCollister and Mayflower CEO Rich McClure announced the award at the company’s recent convention in San Francisco.
Gerald began at Dodge more than 30 years ago. He was nominated by his peers because of the exceptionally polite, professional manner he uses to help each and every customer during a move. He also goes the extra mile to make sure quality standards are met and that customers understand why each step packers and loaders perform is important to the moving process.
The Customer Hero Award was inspired by its first recipients, Ronald Ruiz and Ruth Portillo, who were recognized in 2011 for their devotion to their customers. The award honors front-line service providers, such as packers, loaders and helpers for their commitment to quality customer service. This year’s recipient was chosen by a panel of associates who regularly work directly with customers based on nominations from the agency family.
